Ramiz Zerrouki Returns to FC Twente on Loan
FC Twente have brought back midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki on loan from Feyenoord for the new Eredivisie season. The club has agreed to bring back the Algerian international, just one year after he left Twente.
TWENTE SEAL AGREEMENT FOR ZERROUKI
Twente and Feyenoord have agreed on a loan deal that will bring Zerrouki back to his former club for the 2025/26 season. Zerrouki joined Feyenoord from Twente last summer for €7.2 million but didn’t play often. He’ll now try to regain his form back at Twente. The loan will be finalized after his medical check tomorrow.
CONTEXT: CLUB AND PLAYER BACKGROUND
Zerrouki played 28 Eredivisie matches for Feyenoord last season but was often on the bench. Feyenoord finished third in their league last season, eleven points behind PSV, while Twente secured a sixth-place finish and will miss on European football this season. Fans hope Zerrouki can strengthen the midfield as Twente aims to compete for the top again and get back into European football.
WHAT COMES NEXT FOR TWENTE?
Twente’s first Eredivisie match of the new season is against PEC Zwolle. With the new season, the club hopes Zerrouki’s experience and connection with the squad will help right away. Feyenoord, without Zerrouki, will start their own title bid and search for new midfield options as they try to win the Eredivisie again.
