Rasmus Højlund to Undergo Medical in Rome Before Napoli Move

Rasmus Højlund is getting ready to move from Manchester United to Napoli. The striker will go to Rome today for medical tests. The transfer is likely to be finished by Sunday morning.

DEAL AGREED BETWEEN MANCHESTER UNITED AND NAPOLI

After a lot of discussions, Manchester United and Napoli agreed on Højlund‘s move. He’ll join Napoli first on loan, with a mandatory buy option for €45 million if Napoli qualifies for the Champions League next season. United will get €5 million for the loan, plus €40 million if the purchase clause gets activated. If Napoli don’t qualify, they can still choose to buy Højlund later. He has now accepted this deal and will have his medical exams in Italy before signing his contract according to recent reports.

IMPACT OF HØJLUND’S ARRIVAL AT NAPOLI

Napoli need Højlund because they lost Romelu Lukaku to injury and want to strengthen their attack. Last season, they finished first in Serie A and won the league title, aiming to challenge for a second title in a row under coach Antonio Conte as confirmed by club officials. This year, they had a positive start after winning their opener. Højlund, who scored six goals and provided two assists in 33 appearances for Manchester United last season, should compete for a starting place. He did well in Serie A before with Atalanta, scoring 10 times in 34 matches, so Napoli fans expect a lot from him.

LOOKING AHEAD: NEXT MATCHES AND HIGH EXPECTATIONS

Napoli’s next game is at home against Cagliari, who drew their opener to Fiorentina. Højlund’s arrival could be important for their climb up the table and renewed Champions League push. Fans are keen to see if the striker can play next weekend during this important campaign phase.
