RB Leipzig Sign Danish Striker Conrad Harder in €30m Deadline Day Move

RB Leipzig signed 20-year-old Danish striker Conrad Harder in a €30 million deal on Deadline Day, adding fresh talent to their attack.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Bundesliga club reached an agreement with Sporting CP to sign Harder just hours before the transfer window closed. Harder was pictured with his agents after finalizing the move. The Danish forward signed a contract until 2030 at Leipzig after a successful year in Portugal, winning two trophies with Sporting, and scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions last season. The forward started his career at FC Nordsjaelland before joining Sporting in 2024, and made his debut for the Denmark national team in March.

WHY HARDER JOINS RB LEIPZIG

RB Leipzig’s managing director for sport, Marcel Schafer, described Harder as a striker perfectly suited to the team’s philosophy. Schafer expects a lot from Harder, whose arrival could add energy and dynamism to the Bundesliga club. Harder himself said he is excited for the move, highlighting that Leipzig’s intense, attacking brand of football complements his strengths.

HOW THIS IMPACT THE SEASON

RB Leipzig are currently fifth in the Bundesliga after two matches, just three points off the top. The club are pushing for Champions League qualification, and adding Harder boosts their firepower in the attack. Meanwhile, Sporting CP, who let the young striker go, have started their Primeira Liga title their strongly as they currently sit 3rd, 3 points behind Porto and Benfica at top of the league.
