Real Madrid May Bring Back Nico Paz from Como

Real Madrid might bring Nico Paz back after his great season with Como in Serie A. They can re-sign the 20-year-old Argentine for €8 million. New coach Xabi Alonso is involved in making the decision.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Real Madrid sold Nico Paz to Como last summer for €6 million but kept the option to buy him back. They can get him for €8 million this summer, €9 million in 2026, or €10 million in 2027. Madrid is deciding whether to use this option. More talks are happening soon to finalize this.

Como did well, finishing 10th in their first season back in Serie A. They want to keep Nico Paz, but Madrid’s interest might stop that from happening.

WHY REAL MADRID CARE

Nico Paz has been a star in Serie A under manager Cesc Fabregas. He plays attacking midfielder or winger and scored six goals with eight assists. He won the Serie A Best U-23 Player award. This has convinced Real Madrid he is ready to return.

Madrid’s interest shows they want to develop young players. Paz spent eight years in Madrid’s youth system before moving to Como. New manager Alonso’s involvement shows Paz might be part of plans for the new season.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

If Madrid use the buy-back clause, Paz will join a squad in La Liga and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The bigger tournament is a priority and Paz could be valuable.

Madrid will decide soon. They need to tell Como their buy-back plans this week. While Como wants to keep Paz, he might find returning to a big club too tempting.

For Paz, it’s a choice between playing time at Como or competing for minutes at Madrid. Reports say Real Madrid has a five-year contract worth €3.5 million per season for him, showing they’re serious about his future.
