Real Madrid Try to Sign Argentine Star Franco Mastantuono

Real Madrid are trying to sign Franco Mastantuono from River Plate. They have contacted the player’s agents and the club to start talks. The 17-year-old is wanted by two top European teams.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Madrid have people in Buenos Aires to talk about Mastantuono‘s transfer. Head Scout Juni Calafat is leading the talks. He helped sign Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior, and Endrick Felipe before. Madrid are making an offer of around €40 million. Some of the money could be based on performance instead of a fixed sum.

Earlier, PSG looked ready to buy Mastantuono. They were willing to pay his €45 million release clause. But Madrid are now trying to stop PSG from signing him.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mastantuono’s choice could settle this transfer fight. He has always dreamed of playing for Madrid. He turned down English clubs in the past, waiting for Madrid. This could give Madrid an edge even if PSG will pay more.

Madrid’s chase of Mastantuono matches their plan to sign young talent early. They have done this with Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, and Endrick. At 17, Mastantuono is already River Plate’s youngest scorer in Argentina’s top league.

WHAT NEXT FOR MASTANTUONO?

Madrid want to finish the deal before the Club World Cup, where Mastantuono might play for River. If he joins Madrid, he will likely stay in Argentina until at least 2026 to continue playing for River.

Madrid are leading La Liga by seven points with four games left. Signing Mastantuono would boost their young talent as they aim to defend their title and win the Champions League again.

So far, River want Madrid to pay the full release clause and are not negotiating a lower fee. The next few days will show if Madrid meet this demand or if PSG will sign this promising South American star.
