Rúben Amorim Urges Manchester United To Stay Focused After Hard-Fought Win Over Chelsea

Manchester United coach Rúben Amorim told his players to stay focused after beating Chelsea. Amorim believes the team needs to stay focused and warned his players against complacency.

WHAT HAPPENED?

United managed to win a tightly contested Premier League clash against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday night, with Bruno’s 100th goal in United colors handing the home team an advantage. United played the second half of the game with 10 players after Casemiro’s red card but managed to hold on to their one-goal advantage. After the game, Amorim warned his players to not get carried away with the win as there is a lot of work to be done this season.

UNDER PRESSURE AND PROGRESS

United have responded impressively to a disappointing string of results and now find themselves in tenth place in the standings, just three points behind 2nd placed Arsenal, Tottenham and Bournemouth. However, they are currently outside the top four, sitting 11th in the Premier League after five matches, having registered two wins, one draw, and two defeats this season. Despite the positive result, Amorim argued that United do not have the luxury of dwelling on positive results too much and should approach every game with the goal of winning it as he insists that no one, not even club owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, can change his tactics.

LOOKING AHEAD

United will travel to London to face Brentford next in a must-win game in their pursuit to overtake the teams above them in the standings. Brentford are struggling near the bottom of the table, and will be looking to steer clear of their rivals as they continue to chase the safety spots after a disappointing start of the season.
