Samuel Mbangula Seals Move from Juventus to Werder Bremen

Samuel Mbangula is joining Werder Bremen after the German club and Juventus completed the paperwork for his transfer. They agreed on a €10 million fee with €2 million in add-ons. The 21-year-old Belgian winger will sign his contract on Wednesday. This is one of Bremen’s most important signings in recent years according to reports.

FINAL AGREEMENT REACHED

Werder Bremen and Juventus have now exchanged all documents for Samuel Mbangula‘s transfer. The young winger, who was not in Juventus’s plans after Igor Tudor arrived, will move for €10 million, plus up to €2 million in bonuses. Mbangula is expected to have his medical exam in Bremen and sign until June 2030 as per recent reports. He will earn €1.1 million a year. This is Bremen’s second highest transfer after Davy Klaassen in 2018.

IMPACT ON JUVENTUS AND BREMEN

Mbangula played 23 Serie A games for Juventus last season, scoring 3 goals. He also scored in the Champions League against PSV according to verified statistics. He was important under former coach Thiago Motta but lost his place after the arrival of new coach Igor Tudor. Now, his transfer fee will help Juventus bring in new players like Francisco Conceição, for whom they agreed to pay over €30 million recently. They may also sign Jadon Sancho as reported. Bremen need Mbangula’s help on the wings. They finished 8th last year in the Bundesliga, only one point behind European qualification.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Mbangula will join his new team immediately as Werder Bremen prepares for their first Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Bremen wants to improve this season, and the initial match against last season’s 3rd placed team will be a tough initial test for the team. Juventus will also keep reshaping their squad after finishing fourth in Serie A this past season. They want to challenge champions Napoli, as well as overtake Atalanta and Inter Milan, who finished 3rd and 2nd respectively. With all paperwork done and the signature imminent, all eyes turn to how Mbangula will fit in the Bundesliga.
