Shavy Babicka Leaves Toulouse For Red Star Belgrade In €4 Million Transfer

Shavy Babicka is leaving Toulouse FC to join Red Star Belgrade. The clubs agreed on a deal worth €4 million plus add-ons. Babicka signed a four-year contract with the Serbian champions.

TRANSFER DETAILS FINALIZED

Babicka joined Toulouse in January 2024, but his time in France is ending. He signed a contract until 2027, but Red Star noticed his good performances last season. Babicka played in 33 matches in the 2023/24 season, including 30 Ligue 1 games. He scored four goals and had two assists. The deal includes a big salary increase for Babicka, who will now earn €400,000 per year. His new contract with Red Star will be for four years, starting a new phase in the 25-year-old’s career.

IMPACT ON BOTH CLUBS

Toulouse struggled for consistency last season, finishing in the bottom half of Ligue 1. Babicka’s energy and versatility helped, but the team was not always consistent. Red Star Belgrade, on the other hand, is investing in attacking talent as they prepare for the Champions League playoffs. They see Babicka as a player who can impact both domestic and European competitions.

LOOKING AHEAD: FIXTURES AND GOALS

Babicka joins Red Star, aiming to defend their SuperLiga title for an eighth straight season. The team is at the top of the Serbian league, but Partizan is close behind them. Their next match is against Lech Poznan in the Champions League playoff match. Red Star hopes to not only win the league again but also secure a spot in the Champions League group stage. This is a chance for Babicka to show his skills on a bigger stage. Meanwhile, Toulouse will look for attacking reinforcements to help them in their difficult Ligue 1 campaign and avoid relegation. Reports indicate that Toulouse FC have already brought in Saul Abdulhamid and Santiago Hidalgo this summer.
