Stanis Idumbo Set For Move To AS Monaco

AS Monaco have agreed to sign young Belgian midfielder Stanis Idumbo. He will have his medical today.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Idumbo, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder, is leaving Sevilla for Monaco. The clubs have agreed, and he will have a medical soon. After one season at Sevilla, Idumbo is moving. He played several games for them, gaining experience. Last season, he played 14 La Liga matches and scored one goal. Notably, Sevilla finished 17th in La Liga last season and are looking to rebuild after a disappointing season.

MONACO’S PLAN AND SEASON SO FAR

Monaco want new talent to improve in Ligue 1. Last season, they finished third, just two points from second place, which aligns with their aim to secure a top-three finish this campaign. This season, they are eighth with three points from two games, having started the Ligue 1 season with mixed results. They will play Strasbourg next, who are one of the leaders having won both their opening matches. Monaco hope Idumbo’s skill and energy will help their attack as they aim for a higher position and ultimately qualify for the Champions League again this year.

WHAT NEXT FOR IDUMBO AND MONACO?

After the medical, Idumbo will train with Monaco and could play this weekend. He will compete for a spot in midfield, adding creativity and depth to the team. Monaco are close to the teams above them in points and hope new players like Idumbo can help them reach the Champions League, demonstrating their commitment to building a competitive squad.
