Tammy Abraham Set to Join Besiktas in Record Transfer from Roma
Tammy Abraham, the English striker, is going to Istanbul. He is signing with Besiktas, marking the club’s most expensive transfer in history. Abraham will join Besiktas from AS Roma after a loan at AC Milan, completing his move after finding success in Italy.
According to a previous report, Tammy Abraham will become the most expensive signing in Besiktas‘ history.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Besiktas and Roma have completed the documents needed to finalize Abraham’s transfer. The deal is now confirmed to be worth about €20 million. Abraham will join Besiktas on loan for €2 million, with an obligation to buy for €13 million as well as €2 million in add-ons. His contract in Turkey will run for four years and is reported to pay him €6 million per season. He is travelling to Istanbul for medical checks before officially becoming a Besiktas player.
According to a previous report, Abraham’s contract runs until 2029.
LOOKING BACK: ABRAHAM’S TIME IN ITALY
Abraham arrived in Italy in 2021 and played for Roma and for AC Milan on loan. Last season, he scored 10 goals and had 7 assists for AC Milan during the 2024-25 season. Overall, Abraham netted 29 goals in 112 matches for Roma, contributing to Roma’s victory in the Europa Conference League in 2022. He lifted the Supercoppa Italiana with Milan in 2025. However, both Roma and Milan had inconsistent runs of results, with Milan finishing eighth in Serie A last season and Roma finishing fifth.
As confirmed by previous reports, Abraham’s time in Italy was marked by significant achievements despite the unpredictable performances of his teams.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR BESIKTAS AND ABRAHAM?
Besiktas, who finished fourth in the Super Lig last season and secured a Europa League spot, are planning to make Abraham their leading striker for the new campaign. Their first fixture of the 2025-26 Turkish Super Lig season is against Sivasspor, a team that finished mid-table last year. Besiktas trail champions Galatasaray by 14 points and aim to close that gap with Abraham’s arrival. This move marks a fresh start and a major role in a team with ambitious goals for the upcoming season.
According to a previous report, Besiktas aims to finish in the top-3 and return to European competition in the 2025-26 season.
