Tim Weah Eyes Olympique Marseille Move

Tim Weah wants to move to Olympique Marseille as their talks with Juventus get more serious this summer.

A previous report confirmed that Olympique Marseille are in early talks to sign Tim Weah from Juventus.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The American player wants to join Marseille. Talks are expected between the club and Juventus. Weah, who signed for Juventus two years ago for €11m, can leave because he plays less under the new manager Ivan Tudor and a new forward has been brought on to the team. Juventus reportedly will accept offers around €15m. Weah has three years on his Juventus contract but wants a new start in France. Marseille think Weah is a good player for them. They haven’t made an official offer yet. Some other clubs like Monaco, Leeds United, and Everton are interested, but Weah really wants to go to Marseille.

According to a previous report, Juventus are willing to sell Tim Weah.

CONTEXT: WEAH’S SEASON & JUVENTUS’ SITUATION

Last season, Weah played 43 times for Juventus, scored 6 goals, and assisted 5. He could not always play in the starting lineup under coach Igor Tudor. Juventus ended the Serie A season in fourth place, 11 points behind winners Napoli.

According to a previous report, Juventus finished fourth in Serie A last season.

Marseille finished second in the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season and qualified for the Champions League.

According to a previous report, Olympique Marseille aims to return to the Champions League next season.

Marseille want to rebuild and Weah can play in various positions, especially on the right side. Monaco and some English clubs also want Weah. But Marseille’s position is strong because Weah wants to move to France.

WHAT NEXT FOR ALL PARTIES?

Marseille are thinking about a formal offer to Juventus as talks continue. If they agree, Weah can add speed and creativity to a team that wants to do better in the league after a poor season. Marseille will play a friendly match versus Feyenoord next as they start pre-season preparations. Juventus prepare for another Champions League season. If Weah signs with Marseille, he should immediately help a team that will have higer ambitions this season, especially as they are back to the Champions League.

The first official match of the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season for Olympique Marseille will be against Rennes.

Both clubs wish to buy better players and compete for Europe next season.
