Victor Osimhen Agrees Personal Terms with Galatasaray as Talks Advance

Victor Osimhen has agreed to join Galatasaray until June 2028. The Nigerian striker is closer to a permanent move from Napoli. However, he still has to wait for Napoli and Galatasaray to settle on a fee after the Turkish champions’ initial €55 million bid. Napoli still have not dropped their €75 million valuation amid interest from Al Hilal, with Simone Inzaghis’ side also claiming that they have agreed a deal for the forward.

According to a previous report, Victor Osimhen turned down an offer from Al-Hilal despite a €75 million transfer fee agreement with Napoli.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Osimhen is keen to make his loan move to Galatasaray permanent. According to multiple reports, the striker has agreed a contract until 2028 with the Turkish champions. This comes amid ongoing interest from Napoli and a higher offer from Al Hilal, whom Osimhen has rejected. Galatasaray are now in talks with Napoli over a final fee for the player. Reports have stated that Galatasaray are expected to use the funds raised by selling Nicolo Zaniolo to Barcelona to fund the deal, which could cost around €65m in fixed fee and add-ons.

WHY THIS TRANSFER MATTERS NOW

Osimhen’s spell in Turkey has been a successful one so far. The forward is a fan favourite at Galatasaray, having scored 37 goals for Galatasaray last season. The forward is set to sign a long-term contract as he aims to continue delivering in front of goal at his current club. The club have already offloaded Nicolo Zaniolo to improve their financial situation but are still far from UEFA’s spending limit, and have another burden on them in the form of the Financial Fair Play regulations in the Turkish Super Lig.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR OSIMHEN?

With Galatasaray already through to the knockout stages of the Europa League, Osimhen is keen to add another continental trophy to his tally. The forward also wants to win the Turkish Super Lig title and continue getting more goals and assists for his team.
