Victor Osimhen Set For Permanent Galatasaray Transfer After Napoli Agreement

Victor Osimhen is about to join Galatasaray for good. Napoli and the Turkish club are close to finalizing a deal worth €75 million. This ends a long negotiation and will make the Nigerian striker a Galatasaray player after a very successful loan period.

WHAT’S IN THE DEAL?

Napoli and Galatasaray‘s agreement includes an upfront payment of €40 million. The remaining €35 million will be paid by 2026. Additionally, there is a special rule in the contract: Osimhen cannot join any Serie A club until at least 2027. If he does, Galatasaray would have to pay Naples double the fee. This rule avoids any chance of Osimhen playing for a domestic rival. Napoli will also gain from potential bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause if he is sold again.

OSIMHEN’S IMPACT IN TURKEY

Osimhen was a star for Galatasaray during the 2024-25 season. He scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in just 41 matches across all competitions. His performances helped Galatasaray’s campaign as they won the Turkish Süper Lig title, finishing ahead of Fenerbahçe. Napoli were also national champions in the Serie A, but relying in Lukaku as Osimhen was never part of the plans for Antonio Conte’s team.

THE ROAD AHEAD FOR GALATASARAY AND OSIMHEN

With Osimhen’s permanent signing expected to be done over the weekend, Galatasaray are strengthening their team ahead of their upcoming Champions League qualifiers. Their first official match of the new season is against Sivasspor, who finished sixth last year. Galatasaray hope Osimhen’s contributions will help them stay ahead of rivals like Fenerbahçe and Besiktas in the close Süper Lig race. Meanwhile, Napoli must focus on rebuilding after losing one of their key players, with plans to improve their squad under new head coach Antonio Conte, while they prepare for a Champions League campaign.
