Vidio, an Indonesian streaming platform, will keep showing Premier League games after signing a deal to extend its exclusive rights until 2028. This is the first time a company in Indonesia has secured a second deal for the English league.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Vidio is part of Indonesian media group Emtek. It will broadcast the Premier League in Indonesia for three more seasons, from 2025/26 to 2027/28. Vidio started working with the Premier League in 2022 and has been growing its audience. It offers live matches, highlights, and other content for Indonesian fans. This new deal makes Vidio the main place to watch English football in Indonesia and shows how important streaming services are becoming for sports in the area.

WHY THIS MATTERS FOR INDONESIA AND THE PREMIER LEAGUE

This deal strengthens the Premier League’s presence in Southeast Asia, where football is becoming very popular. By extending the deal, Vidio gives fans a reliable way to watch big clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool. Indonesia’s interest in the Premier League has helped the league earn a lot of money internationally, more than it makes from domestic deals. Having a local partner for a second term gives Indonesian viewers stable and good-quality access to games and strengthens Vidio’s role in regional sports broadcasting.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FANS AND THE PLATFORM?

With this extension, Indonesian viewers can keep watching every Premier League match on Vidio’s streaming service until at least 2028. Fans might see new features and interactive experiences as Vidio competes with other platforms. As the current Premier League season nears its end, Vidio’s current deal will last through the 2024/25 season before the new one starts. Emtek and Vidio will likely increase their coverage and activities, keeping Indonesian supporters closely connected to all the action.
