William Saliba Signs New Arsenal Contract Until 2030

Arsenal have announced a big contract for defender William Saliba. The French player will stay at the Emirates Stadium until June 2030. All the paperwork is done. The club is happy to keep Saliba, one of the best center-backs in the world, for a long time. According to recent reports, William Saliba signed a new five-year contract with Arsenal.

WHAT HAPPENED?

William Saliba has signed a new five-year deal with Arsenal. He will stay until the summer of 2030. Saliba, 24, was linked with a move to Real Madrid, who wanted him as a top target for the center-back role. However, Saliba expressed his desire to remain in North London and continue developing at Arsenal. Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Saliba was happy and wanted to play for Arsenal. Additionally, Saliba had indicated previously that he wanted to secure a new deal with the club. Saliba joins Gabriel Magalhães in long-term commitment, making Arsenal’s defense strong for years.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Saliba joined Arsenal from Saint-Étienne in 2019. He spent years on loan in France before becoming a key part of Arsenal’s team in 2022. Since his debut, he has played more minutes than any other player. He helped Arsenal achieve the best defensive record in the league for the past two seasons. Fans believe Arsenal’s title challenge in 2022-23 suffered after Saliba’s injury in March. Presently, he continues to lead one of the sport’s best defenses, having played in every match this season. As of now, Arsenal are second in the Premier League after five games, solidifying their strong defensive capabilities.

LOOKING AHEAD: WHAT’S NEXT?

With Saliba’s new deal, Arsenal aim to win the Premier League and Champions League this season and in the next decade. Arsenal will face Olympiacos for the Champions League this week, as they look for the second win in two matches in the competition, before facing West Ham for the Premier League right before the international break, as they sit only two points behind leaders Liverpool. Following Saliba’s commitment, the focus will shift to securing new contracts for Bukayo Saka and other core players with expiring deals. Arsenal’s leaders are confident that this stability will enhance their strength in both England and Europe for future seasons.
