Wolfsburg Secure Deal for Salzburg’s Adam Daghim
VfL Wolfsburg have agreed to sign RB Salzburg’s young attacker Adam Daghim, with the player set for a medical in the next 24 hours.
TRANSFER AGREED: WHAT HAPPENED?
Wolfsburg have moved quickly to sign 19-year-old Adam Daghim from RB Salzburg. There had been weeks of interest from multiple European clubs. The striker will join the Bundesliga side if he passes a medical, which will be completed within a day. Daghim joined Salzburg from AGF Aarhus in 2023 and made 29 Austrian Bundesliga appearances last season, scoring five goals. Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen were both interested, but Wolfsburg have won the race for his signature. As per reports, Daghim might leave Red Bull Salzburg.
WHY THIS MOVE MATTERS FOR WOLFSBURG’S PLANS
Wolfsburg are looking to strengthen after finishing 12th in the Bundesliga last season, only five points above the relegation playoff spot. The club struggled in attack, scoring just 42 goals in 34 matches. Adding Daghim gives them a promising young forward with experience in both the Austrian Bundesliga and the Danish Superliga. Salzburg have lost a player who recorded four goals in 29 league matches for the first team, plus six goals and six assists in 22 games for feeder club Liefering in the Danish Superliga.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Once his medical is complete, Daghim is expected to join Wolfsburg’s preparations for their opening Bundesliga fixture against Koln. Wolfsburg finished last season with 37 points, just above Bochum and Mainz, who both fought relegation. Their aim will be to improve attacking output and rise in the standings. Salzburg, meanwhile, need to fill the gap left in attack following Daghim’s departure as they prepare for the new Austrian Bundesliga season and Champions League qualifiers. All eyes now turn to how quickly Daghim can adapt to German football and help Wolfsburg push further up the table.
