Wolves Make Move for Hellas Verona Right-Back Jackson Tchatchoua

Wolves have approached Hellas Verona about signing Jackson Tchatchoua. The Premier League club wants to strengthen their right-back position before the new season starts.

WOLVES STEP UP RIGHT-BACK SEARCH

Wolves have asked Verona about player availability. Tchatchoua is under contract until 2027. However, Verona is open to his departure, as selling Tchatchoua could provide the club with valuable funds to rebuild their squad under manager Damian Vučić. The 23-year-old Cameroonian has impressed in Serie A, playing in 62 league matches with two goals and five assists since joining from Charleroi in 2022. Several clubs have targeted him this summer.

THE BATTLE FOR TCHATCHOUA

Weeks ago, Nottingham Forest enquired about the player, making an initial approach with the aim of an offer worth around €12 million, but did not follow through. Inter Milan and Galatasaray previously tracked him; however, Inter Milan chose Luis Henrique, clearing the way for Premier League teams. Verona values Tchatchoua at €8-10 million. Wolves are considering him to strengthen a defense that conceded 65 goals last season, finishing 14th in the league—seven points above relegation and far from European spots.

AHEAD OF THE NEW SEASON

With the 2025/26 Premier League season approaching soon, Wolves are eager to bounce back from an inconsistent year. Their opening match is against Manchester City, contrasting with Sunderland who gained promotion via the Championship playoffs. In comparison, Verona kicks off its Serie A campaign against Bologna after narrowly avoiding relegation, finishing 14th in Serie A. Tchatchoua’s addition could bolster Wolves’ defense and provide much-needed depth as they strive for an improved campaign.
