Wolves Shut Down Transfer Talks for Hwang Hee-chan

Wolverhampton Wanderers have said that Hwang Hee-chan will not leave the club in the last days of the transfer window. They have turned down several offers from other Premier League teams.

WOLVES MAKE FINAL CALL ON HWANG’S FUTURE

Wolves have received two offers from Premier League clubs, including a formal offer from Crystal Palace, but have decided that Hwang Hee-chan is not for sale. Despite interest from other teams, the Wolves manager insists that Hwang is an important part of his future plans. Reports say that Palace offered to take the South Korean international on loan with an option to buy him. However, Wolves have no intention of selling him before the transfer deadline. It has been speculated that Hwang might leave this summer, considering the interest from multiple clubs.

WOLVES’ IMPORTANCE

Wolves have started the Premier League season poorly in 2025-26. Hwang has hardly been used, playing only 20 minutes in the team’s first two league games. In contrast, new signing Jørgen Strand Larsen has become a regular after scoring 14 times last season. Hwang scored only twice in 21 appearances last season after getting 12 goals the year before. However, he remains a versatile option in attack for Wolves. As Wolves face various competitions and a long season, Hwang provides important depth in their forward line. His reduction in playing time reflects larger changes at Wolves, as they look to improve after finishing 16th last season.

WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO HWANG?

Wolves hope to improve when they face West Ham United in the second round of the EFL Cup. Hwang could be given a rare start in that game. In the Premier League, Wolves are near the bottom of the table after a slow start. Their next league match is at home to Everton, who have one win and one loss in two matches Crystal Palace, who tried to sign Hwang, are above Wolves in the top half of the table after making a mixed start themselves. Hwang’s future remains at Molineux for now, with hopes of getting more playing time and helping Wolves climb the table.
