Xabi Alonso Confirms Endrick in His Plans for Real Madrid’s Attack

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has stated that forward Endrick is in his plans, and the player has a chance to become a key contributor for the first team.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Alonso said: “Endrick is definitely in my plans. I want him to come back from injury. I am open and Endrick knows it. We know how much we worked to get him. We were all happy when we signed him. He has grown well. And I believe he can be very important for us!”

Arsenal remain favourites to sign the Brazilian in the summer and he is ready to put pen to paper on a deal. His arrival would be a massive boost for Mikel Arteta, who would get a top-class player on a free transfer, but Endrick seems committed to Real Madrid and Los Blancos won’t let him go so early in his career. The Arsenal manager has already revealed his desire to have more attacking reinforcements.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Alonso already has multiple senior attackers at his disposal, having signed Mastantuono from River Plate who will join the team after turning 18. Apart from Rodrygo, Endrick will also have to compete with 10-goal youngster Gonzalo Garcia and prolific France forward Kylian Mbappe. However, with the club letting Rodrygo leave, there will be room for Endrick to get enough playing time if he stays at the club beyond the summer.

WHAT NEXT FOR XABI ALONSO?

The Real Madrid manager will now look to add to his squad in the summer transfer window. Man City defender Nathan Ake is reportedly closing in on a move to the Bernabeu, which will make him Real’s fourth signing of the window. Alonso will hope to further strengthen his lineup and build a side that can regain their La Liga crown next season.
