Youssoufa Moukoko Completes €5m Move to FC Copenhagen
FC Copenhagen have signed Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund for €5 million. The young striker passed the medical and agreed to personal terms with the Danish champions.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Moukoko, once seen as a future star at Dortmund after debuting at 16, has completed a permanent transfer to FC Copenhagen. The 20-year-old had limited game time at Dortmund and spent last season on loan at OGC Nice. His spell in France was disappointing, with only two goals and two assists in 22 appearances. Moukoko has signed a five-year contract in Denmark, where he is expected to earn nearly €1 million per year, a notable reduction from his previous salary.
According to a previous report we published, Dortmund were close to final agreement for Moukoko’s permanent transfer to FC Copenhagen.
DORTMUND EXIT AND FRESH START
Moukoko’s move follows a challenging spell at both Dortmund and Nice. Despite his early potential, he failed to secure a consistent spot in Dortmund’s lineup. Last season, FC Copenhagen won their 16th Danish Superliga title, and are looking to enhance their attack as they prepare for Champions League qualifiers. The signing gives Moukoko a chance to regain his confidence and form in a league with less pressure but high ambitions.
A previous report confirmed that Copenhagen finished last season as Danish Superliga champions.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR COPENHAGEN AND MOUKOKO?
FC Copenhagen hope Moukoko can make an impact immediately. The Danish champions are preparing for the new Superliga season, which begins next month, and will also participate in Champions League qualifying rounds.
With tight competition at the top—Copenhagen finished just one point ahead of Brøndby last season—Moukoko’s performance could be crucial in maintaining their dominance. For the striker, this move is a fresh start at just 20 years old, and he’ll be eager to prove himself and relaunch his career in Denmark’s capital.
